Sylvania UK is delighted to work with PAPYRUS as our charity partner in 2025, through our ‘Shine a Light’ campaign.

It can be very easy to talk about certain things and near impossible to talk about others.

Mental health and Suicide awareness is so important in todays busy world. Suicide is the main cause of death in young people under the age of 35 in the UK and around 3/4 of them were boys or young men. As part of our newly launched ‘Shine a Light’ campaign, Sylvania Group UK has partnered with PAPYRUS and together we want to shine a light this difficult subject.

So who is PAPYRUS?

PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide is the UK charity dedicated to the prevention of suicide and the promotion of positive mental health and emotional wellbeing in young people.
PAPYRUS exists to reduce the number of young people who take their own lives, by shattering the stigma surrounding suicide and equipping young people and their communities with the skills to recognise and respond to emotional distress.
PAPYRUS believes that no young person should have to struggle alone with thoughts of suicide.

This year together, we want to encourage conversation, raise awareness and ensure that

anyone who needs support is signposted to the right information and help.

SO HOW CAN YOU HELP?

FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITIES

Through our ‘Shine a Light’ campaign in 2025, Sylvania Group UK will be running fundraising activities for you to get involved with, including Challenge and Sporting events. The Sylvania UK team will be donning tracksuits and trainers and will be having friendly competition to see who can raise the most money!

FULLY FUNDED Training Opportunities

Furthermore, let us help you to have those tricky conversations, through fully funded training opportunities this year. These include the following courses:

‘Spot the Signs‘, helping you to identify those who may need support
‘SPEAK‘, will give you the confidence to approach and give tips for how to have those difficult conversations
‘ASSIST‘, which will give you the tools to becoming a mental health first aider.
